Cebu Pacific Breaks 1 Million Passengers Record

Cebu Pacific flew 1,086,650 passengers in the month of April 2011, a record for the rapidly growing airline. CEB operates flights to 33 domestic and 16 international destinations, on 52 domestic and 24 international routes.

It also broke its own record for the number of passengers carried in one day, as on 29 April 2011, CEB carried 37,835 passengers, overtaking previous records made in the first quarter of 2011.

?This is the first time CEB has flown over a million guests in one month. It is a testament to how much CEB has empowered every Juan to travel by air with its trademark low fares and high-value services. We thank our passengers for their continued patronage of the country?s low-fare pioneer,? said CEB VP for Marketing and Distribution Candice Iyog. ?CEB attributes this landmark number to having the lowest fares in the market, newest aircraft fleet in the country, and most extensive route network. We will continue offering innovative products and pricing structures for the benefit of our passengers.?

By the end of 2011, CEB will be operating a fleet of 37 aircraft ? with an average age of less than 3.5 years. Between 2012 and 2014, the airline will take delivery of an additional 16 brand-new Airbus A320 aircraft.

Itcurrently operates over 270 flights daily from hubs in Manila, Cebu, Davao and Clark, and flew almost 10.5 million passengers in 2010, exceeding targets with a 19% increase over 2009. Its international passengers also grew by 38% in 2010.
