"We have posted signs on our doors basically saying that they (TSA agents) aren't allowed to come into our business," K.C. McLawson, who works at the restaurant, tells travel blogger Christopher Elliott. "We have the right to refuse service to anyone."
Elliott says he is not sure where the restaurant with the ban is located but the IP address on an email he received from McLawson indicates it came from Seattle, which might put the restaurant near Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
The owner of the restaurant is a fed up flier, McLawson writes.
"My boss flies quite a bit and he has an amazing ability to remember faces. If he sees a TSA agent come in we turn our backs and completely ignore them, and tell them to leave," McLawson says.
She adds more than 90% of the restaurant's customers agree with the TSA agent ban.
"Until TSA agents start treating us with the respect and dignity that we deserve, then things will change for them in the private sector."
When AOL Travel News tried to email McLawson we received an email message that she was unavailable this week.
The TSA declined to comment.
Seattle Weekly set out to find the restaurant, calling nearly a dozen eateries near Sea-Tac as well as TSA agents, but couldn't find anyone to confirm the story. One restaurant owner, however, says he gives everyone who works at the airport, including TSA agents, a 20% discount.
