18 mobile phones seized from jail

Gopalganj (Bihhar), Jan 20 (PTI) The district administration today seized 18 mobile phones among a haul of objectionable items from a district jail in Bihar's Gopalganj district, officials said. Acting on a tip-off, Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Rajiv Ranjan Singh and Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Sanjay Kumar jointly carried out a raid in the district jail. Eighteen mobile phones, four SIM cards, two batteries, a knife and three scissors were held from the jail premises, they said. A report will be submitted to the district magistrate for action against the jail officials for their collusion in supply of the objectionable items to the jail inmates, the officials said.
