WASHINGTON, Dec. 13 (UPI) -- Fourstar Group USA Inc. in Bedford Heights, Ohio, is recalling 25,500 Handheld Massage Pets due to leaking batteries, a federal watchdog said.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said the leaking batteries in the massagers made to resemble a ladybug or a bee present a burn hazard to consumers.
The recall involves massagers that stand 3 1/2 inches tall and 5 inches wide. They were sold with two Kendal brand AA batteries.
The packages were marked with "Massage Pets" and "Dating code 1210A.
They were imported from China and sold exclusively at BJ's Wholesale Clubs from September into this month for about $8 apiece.
Consumers were advised to stop using the massagers and return them to any BJ's Wholesale Club outlet for a full refund.
